More than 2.5 million Muslims arrive to the Holy Place of Makkah to perform Hajj (Islamic pilgrimage). Almost 40% of this number arrives by air to Jeddah (JED/OEJN) and Madinah (MED/OEMA) in a very short period of time. Garuda Indonesia has prepared 14 wide body aircraft or wide body for haj operational 2017. The fourteen aircraft are 11 aircraft belonging to Garuda Indonesia consisting of 1 Boeing 747-400, 5 Boeing 777-300ER, 5 Airbus A330-300 and 3 leased aircraft consisting of 2 Boeing 747-400 and 1 aircraft Airbus A330-300.
